We primarily process personal data that we receive from our customers and other business partners in the course of our business relationship, or that we collect from users when operating our websites, control panel (wcenter) and other applications. This includes in particular:

We use the personal data we collect primarily to conclude and process contracts with our customers, in particular to provide and operate our hosting services and to procure products and services from our suppliers and subcontractors, as well as to comply with our legal obligations in Switzerland and abroad.

In addition, we process personal data of you and other people, where permitted and as we consider appropriate, also for the following purposes in which we (and sometimes third parties) have a legitimate interest corresponding to the purpose:

We typically use "cookies" and comparable techniques on our websites, with which your browser or device can be identified. If you block cookies, it is possible that certain functionalities will no longer work.

We use Google Analytics and comparable services on our websites. Google Analytics is a service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) that helps us measure and analyse the use of our websites (e.g. pages visited, duration of the visit, approximate location). For this purpose, cookies and similar technologies are used and usage data is transmitted to Google, which may also process it on servers outside Switzerland and the EU. The processing of your personal data by the provider is then carried out under the provider’s own responsibility and in accordance with its data protection provisions.

Where the law requires it, we only use such tracking and analytics technologies with your consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time via our cookie settings. In our newsletters and other marketing e-mails we may, where permitted, include visible and invisible image elements whose retrieval from our servers allows us to determine whether and when you opened the e-mail.

We may also embed plug-ins from social networks (such as Facebook, X/Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn or Instagram). These are deactivated by default. If you activate them by clicking, the operator concerned can receive data and process it under its own responsibility.

In the course of our business activities we disclose data to third parties, either because they process it for us or because they use it for their own purposes. This includes in particular our service providers and sub-processors (see the list of sub-processors linked below), payment providers, as well as authorities, courts and other parties where we are legally obliged or entitled to do so.

These recipients are located partly in Switzerland but partly also abroad. If a recipient is located in a country without adequate statutory data protection, we contractually oblige the recipient to comply with the applicable data protection (for example by using the revised standard contractual clauses of the European Commission), unless the recipient is already subject to a legally recognised set of rules to ensure data protection and we cannot rely on an exception.

We process and store your personal data for as long as is necessary for the fulfilment of our contractual and legal obligations or otherwise for the purposes pursued with the processing. As soon as your personal data is no longer required for the above purposes, it is generally and as far as possible deleted or anonymised.

We take appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access and misuse, such as staff training, IT and network security solutions, access controls, encryption and pseudonymisation. In the course of our business relationship you must provide the personal data required to enter into and carry out a business relationship and to fulfil the associated contractual obligations. Without this data we will generally not be able to conclude or perform a contract with you.

To a limited extent we process your personal data in an automated manner in order to evaluate certain personal aspects (profiling), for example to inform and advise you about products in a targeted way, or for security and abuse-prevention purposes.

Within the scope of the applicable data protection law you have the right to information, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, to object to our data processing (in particular direct marketing), and to data portability. We reserve the right to assert statutory restrictions.

Exercising such rights requires that you clearly prove your identity. Please contact us for this purpose at the address given in section 1. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority (in Switzerland: the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, http://www.edoeb.admin.ch).
